ARTICLE I
INTRODUCTION AND DEFINITIONS
1.1. The Alumni Register is a service available at the Internet address (URL) http://absolventi.upce.cz ("Alumni Register").
1.2. The operator of the Alumni Register is the University of Pardubice (the "Operator" or "University of Pardubice"), with its registered office at Studentská 95, 532 10 Pardubice, Company Registration Number 00216275, VAT N. CZ00216275.
1.3. The contractual relationship between the User of the Alumni Register and the Operator is governed, inter alia, by this Cookies Policy (hereinafter referred to as the "Policy"), Terms and Conditions of Use of the Alumni Register and Personal Data Processing Policy. The Personal Data Processing Policy describes how the Operator collects and uses information and what options are available to the User.
1.4. One of the ways the Operator collects information is through the use of a technology called cookies.
ARTICLE II
COOKIES
2.1. In order to improve the services of the Operator's Alumni Register, the Alumni Register uses cookies.
2.2. Cookies are text files that store information in the User's Internet browser and uniquely identify the User's computer, mobile phone, or other device. These files contain specific information from previous User's visits to the Alumni Register.
2.3. For similar purposes as cookies, the Operator may also use other technologies (e.g. data storage in a web browser or in the User's device, identifiers associated with the User's device and other software). In this Policy, all such technologies are referred to as cookies.
ARTICLE III
PURPOSE OF USE AND CATEGORY
3.1. In particular, cookies contribute to the correct functionality and security of the Alumni Register, to remembering access data to the Alumni Register, which in certain cases do not need to be re-entered, and to finding out which Alumni Register functions are most frequently used, on the basis of which the Operator can best adapt offer services to user requirements.
3.2. The Operator can place cookies on the User's computer, mobile phone or other device. The information stored in cookies is obtained by the Operator when the User uses or visits the Alumni Register or websites and applications provided by the Operator or third parties that use any of the Alumni Register functions, including websites and applications provided by the Operator or third parties containing the Alumni Register technologies.
3.3. Some cookies may collect information that is subsequently used by third parties in direct connection with the Operator's activities.
3.4. CATEGORIES OF COOKIES
The Operator uses three categories of cookies:
a) Basic cookies are necessary for the Alumni Register to work in a user-friendly and secure way. Using this category of cookies, the Operator verifies the User's access data and determines whether the User is logged in, in order to facilitate the User's access to the Alumni Register and ensure an appropriate environment and functions. Using this category of cookies, the Operator also ensures the protection and security of the user account and user data.
b) Personalisation cookies are used to remember user preferences and to use the Alumni Register more intuitively. Using this category of cookies, the Operator allows the use of useful Alumni Register functions, such as preferences, thanks to which the Operator can provide the User with customized content and the Alumni Register environment. Using this category of cookies, the Operator can also customize the provision of content relevant to the preferred language version of the Alumni Register.
c) Analytical cookies are used for internal analytics, based on which the Operator can understand how users use the Alumni Register in order to improve services in the future and improve the functions of the Alumni Register. Using this category of cookies, the Operator can analyse which Alumni Register functions are most useful to users and which of its functions can be improved.
3.5. The Alumni Register uses Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses cookies, which are text files stored on the User's computer to analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about the use of the website (including the User's IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating the use of the website, compiling reports on website activities for website operators and providing other services relating to website activities and internet usage in general. Google may also provide this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. The User may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in the browser, however, if the User does so, he/she will not be able to fully use all the functions of this site. By using the Alumni Register website, the User consents to the processing of data by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above. ARTICLE IV
COOKIE SETTINGS
4.1. The use of cookies can usually be set using the User's Internet browser. Most internet browsers accept cookies by default. You can usually completely disable or enable the use of only certain cookies using the User's Internet browser settings (cookie settings are usually found in the Tools, Preferences or Settings section).
4.2. If the User completely disables cookies in the Internet browser or allows the use of only certain cookies, it may affect the User's access to some Alumni Register functions and some Alumni Register functions may not work properly.
ARTICLE V
POLICY EFFECTIVENESS, POLICY CHANGES
5.1. UPDATES AND CHANGES TO THE POLICY. The University of Pardubice reserves the right to unilaterally change this Policy to a reasonable extent, especially in the event of a change in legislation, a technical change in the operation of the Alumni Register, as a result of the development or extension of the Alumni Register, or in the event of a change in operational, organizational or business processes.
If the University of Pardubice makes any substantial changes to this Policy, it is obliged to notify the User of this fact through the Alumni Register or otherwise, so that the User has the opportunity to view the changes before they enter into force.
If the User does not agree with the proposed changes to the Policy, he/she may cancel or stop using his/her account (stop logging in).
5.2. If the User continues to use the Alumni Register after the University of Pardubice publishes or notifies the User of changes to this Policy, the User shall be deemed to agree with the changes on the date of their entry into force.
5.3. This Cookies Policy comes into force and effect on June 19, 2020.
